The Church of Santa Maria is located on the southeastern side of the Plaza Infante D. Henrique, in the centre of the city of Lagos. The church building has a symmetrical composition, a single rectangular nave with a baptistry, a high chapel and a choir, situated above the entrance area. Beach of Dona Ana

The beach of Dona Ana is a beach in Lagos, Algarve, Portugal, known due to the great beauty of the landscape. The name of the beach was given in honour of the nun Ana, who lived in the convent of the nuns of Lagos. During World War I, the soldiers invaded the convent and murdered all the nuns, except for D. Ana, who had access to a tunnel between the convent and the beach. Dona Ana ran through the tunnel and was the only one who survived.
